Horsin' Around

How can you go wrong with a beautiful girl and a beautiful horse?  Well, recently we went out and captured these images for a high school senior, and I think we did pretty alright.  She and her mom were happy too!

The secret to success for any portrait is planning.  We like to figure out the clothing and discuss ideas before we go out to take photos.

But once the planning is done, then it really helps to be open to whatever presents itself.  If you think people are hard to predict, try making horses cooperate!

A good photographer is a good observer with quick reflexes and the ability to predict what will happen next.

I hope you like these too!

Cloverleaf Ranch Summer Camp

Yee-Haw!  If ya' wanna have a great time this summer, head on out to Cloverleaf Ranch in Santa Rosa.

We're out there every Tuesday taking photos of campers standin' next to their favorite pony.  This year's favorite is Ricky, a somewhat spirited mare, with a beautiful blond mane.

There are lots of reasons that kids like Cloverleaf Ranch for Summer Camp, not just horseback riding.  They have swimming and archery, tennis, art, frisbee and soccer, a ropes course and the best counselors you'll ever meet.  Some of 'em talk kinda funny, though, 'cause they're from Australia.  No worries!

Well, here are some of the pictures we do up there at Cloverleaf.  Enjoy!

My Journey

Portraiture is my thing, whether it's for fine art to decorate your home or quick portraits to celebrate an occasion.  Since 1966  I've been messing around with photography.  The cool thing is, it keeps changing!  After 10 years of photographing people on the streets and developing B&W enlargements, I got to be one of the first in the U.S. to print color slides on Cibachrome.  That was for a great guy named Tom Caravaglia in New York City in 1976.  He pushed me to create my first portfolio.

Things kept changing as I grew up and my business grew, until eventually, in 1997 my studio entered the digital world.  Now anything is possible!
